UNFIX Festival

Call for Expressions of Interest

Our next event will be at CCA Glasgow in December 2017.

If you make work or are engaged in activist pursuits or research that resonates with the themes of UNFIX, we’d like to hear from you.

If you’re proposing an artwork, it can be existent or a new idea, but please express it in no more than 500 words including the form it will take, an idea of the resources required to make it happen, and web links to previous work.

500 words isn’t a lot, deliberately: we’re looking for those already engaged in work addressing the concerns of UNFIX in ways we aren’t aware of. Please don’t stress in trying to bend your work to fit the theme, just show us what you’ve got!

If you’d rather send a video or use an alternative mode of getting in touch, just let us know.

Please send expressions of interest to unfixfestival@gmail.com by Friday 14th July 2017.

What is UNFIX?

UNFIX is a Glasgow based festival of live performance, film, installation, workshop and debate that wants to unravel the knots in how we're living. Ecological crisis and renewal addressed through our bodies and physical sense of living.

Since 2015 we’ve run three editions in Glasgow as well as two in New York city and one in Tokyo Japan. We’re learning as we go. We’re trying to join the dots between the Anthropocene, runaway capitalism & inequality, and our most intimate sense of self. Who do we need to be for things to work out? What does happiness look like under 21st century conditions? How should we regard each other and the beings around us?

We believe performance, art, discussion, food and ritual can help us ask with courage.

UNFIX conceives individual human lives as a microcosm of the whole, and puts it to you: climate change and ecological transformation are happening inside your body, RIGHT NOW.

You can read more about the intentions of UNFIX here (or watch the video introduction below).
